Constance Burleigh Richardson

Constance Burleigh Richardson, a beloved figure in her community and a dedicated dietician, passed away on July 1, 2025. Born on December 2, 1959, in Richmond, Virginia, she was known for her outspoken nature, her remarkable sense of humor, and her unwavering directness that often brought smiles to those around her.

Constance dedicated her career to improving the well-being of others as a dietician at VCU Healthcare and Henrico Doctor's Hospital. Her commitment to her profession was matched only by her devotion to her family. Constance was immensely proud of her role as a mother and grandmother, highlighting her greatest accomplishment as raising her three sons, Theo, Che, and Devon, and nurturing her two grandchildren, Starr Burleigh and Quinci Matthew Sutton.

She cherished her relationships with her two sisters, Patricia Otey and Mary Beasley, and had a profound and meaningful connection with her several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who will hold her memory dear.

Constance was a graduate of Maggie L. Walker High School in Richmond, where she laid the foundation for a life focused on service and compassion. In her leisure time, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of eating and immersing herself in investigative TV shows, where her curiosity and analytical nature flourished.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Richardson, and her sisters Darlene Whitehead and brother Aaron Lewis Stone Sr., who are remembered fondly by all who knew them.

A memorial service to celebrate Constance's life will be held on July 19, 2025, at Joseph Jenkins Jr Funeral Home in Richmond, Virginia. The service will commence at 11:00 AM and conclude at 12:00 PM. Her spirit will undoubtedly resonate through the memories and stories shared by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
